Statement of Faith

As a Christian Church in the Huon Valley we are called as servants, to serve in unity, love and fellowship. We extend the hospitality of our Lord Jesus Christ to all who are in need.

We believe in one triune God existing eternally in three persons as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible to be the only authentic witness to the saving activity of God through Jesus Christ, and to the presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus was without sin, and throughout his earthly life taught his followers that the kingdom of God was at hand. He taught the people in parables, and healed many who were ill in body, mind and spirit.

Jesus suffered and died on the cross for all. As Christians, we believe that his sacrificial death restores us into a right relationship with God. We believe that Jesus was resurrected from the dead on the third day, and that he ascended to the right hand of his Father in heaven. We wait eagerly for the day of his return.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is given to us as the Comforter, until our Lord Jesus Christ's return. We believe that through the same Spirit, God has given us gifts to live together in love and unite all believers in one Church and one baptism. It is through these gifts and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit that we are called to bring the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ to those we meet in our community.
