All interested are welcome to meet on Sunday 19 th May, 2024 at 1.30pm at the Huonville Community Church for an hour of prayer together, to encounter God through his word and Spirit.
We will begin with a short introduction and time of worship and then break into smaller groups for prayer. There will also be a time and a space for silent
prayer.
We will pray:
that God be praised and thanked for his blessings,
that God be glorified by his people through good works and faithfulness,
for the work of the Spirit in calling people to repentance and faith for spiritual revival,
for zeal, courage, boldness and joy in witnessing about Jesus,
for unity between Christians, in diversity.
for the strengthening and equipping of God’s people in mature and effective witness.

Are you a preacher? An aspiring preacher? Or would you just like to learn more about the theology and ministry of preaching the word of God? At the Huonville Community Church we have a Preachers' Circle which meets twice monthly on the first and third Thursdays at 2pm. Here you will find encouragement, resources, reflection and discussion on this very important ministry to the people of God. This is an open group, so whether you worship with us at the Huonville Community Church, or ellsewhere in the Huon Valley or farther afield, you will be made very welcome. If you would like to join us, please contact our Ministry Enabler, Evan, on 0433174112.
A short course on the ministry of leading Holy Communion will commence at the Huonville Community Church on Thursday 9 May at 2pm, with subsequent sessions on 23 May and 13 June (2nd and 4th Thursdays).
This is an introduction for anybody who is currently ministering at the table in Holy Communion, who would like to explore this ministry or just to learn more about the Eucharist (Holy Communion). The three sessions cover:
An introduction to the history, Biblical foundations and theology of the Eucharist, with particular attention given to practice in the Churches of Christ and the Reformed tradition.
An introduction to the order of service for Holy Communion, and options for ministers who wish to write their own or use additional resources. Again, the focus is on ministry within the Reformed tradition generally.
A practicum, where course participants will be invited to lead a practise session using an order of service they have put together.
Participants from the HCC or other churches within the Huon Valley are very welcome. If you would like to take part, please contact our Ministry Enabler, Evan, on 0433174112. Note that this course is intended to be run again when there are more particpants who require it, so please let me know if you would like to take part in a future course.
