The Huonville Community Church is an independent Christian Church located in Huonville, Tasmania.
Our Church has a long history in the Huon Valley (refer to Our History page). It is our prayer that we can continue to reach out to the community in ways that are inclusive and as diverse as those to whom Jesus calls us to minister.
The Ministry Enabler and team of Elders and Deacons oversee the leadership and ministry of the Church. The Church relies on a team of volunteers who give valuable time to the day-to-day operations of the Church. We are blessed to have a strong and vibrant music team.
Our leadership is based on the congregational model of governance where the Church is governed democratically through the membership structure of the Church. Elders and deacons along with active members of the congregation have equal voting rights. The Huonville Community Church is affiliated with Churches of Christ, Victoria/Tasmania.
We warmly invite people into our Church and would encourage them to prayerfully consider membership and the role they may play within our fellowship. In saying this we also respect the desires of those who do not wish to become members, but who would just prefer to worship and fellowship with other like-minded people.
Our role is to worship God, build community and to follow what God has laid down for His Church in the Huon Valley.
As a reflection of our recognition of the deep history and culture of this island, the Huonville Community Church wishes to acknowledge the Melukerdee people as the traditional owners of the land upon which our church was built. We honour them for their custodianship of the land on which we worship, and pay respect to elders past, present and emerging.
